Julian of Norwich, Bob Marley, and many others have offered variations on the same comforting message: “Everything is going to be alright.” I firmly believe in this reassurance, but what does it really mean? It doesn’t promise that we’ll get everything we desire—whether it’s health, happiness, love, or riches. Perhaps it’s more of an invitation to embrace the present, to let go of the futility of worrying, and to accept that the future will unfold in ways we can’t yet predict.
In my bespoke workshops and mentoring, I help people explore creative approaches to living and working with greater fulfilment—focusing less on the uncertainties of the future, and more on what we can create right now.
Looking for the odd, the happy accident, or the curious juxtaposition can spark creativity in surprising ways. It’s not just about photography; these moments can be the catalyst for problem-solving, inspiration, or simply bringing a smile to your face—a feeling that’s uniquely human and endlessly enjoyable.
In my workshops, I guide people to spot the ‘odd’ through playful and inspiring activities. This fresh way of seeing things is a powerful tool for individuals, teams, and organisations alike.
Sometimes, all it takes to spark creativity is to look at things from a new angle. These mannequin heads, with their makeup, hats, and sunglasses, offer a playful reminder that the world is full of strange and beautiful perspectives.
In my bespoke workshops, I encourage participants to challenge their usual way of seeing things. By stepping outside our comfort zones and embracing the unexpected, we unlock fresh ideas and new ways to approach problems.
Speaking at conferences allows me to engage directly with people, share ideas, and spark new ways of thinking. Whether I’m addressing a room of leaders, creatives, or teams, my goal is always the same: to inspire, challenge, and encourage action.
In my tailor-made talks, I blend storytelling, creativity, and practical insights to help audiences rethink problems, discover fresh solutions, and embrace new perspectives. It’s always a rewarding experience to see the moment when something clicks, and individuals or teams walk away ready to approach their work with renewed energy and creativity.
If you’re looking for a speaker who can bring both inspiration and real value to your event, let’s talk!
Portraits are a delightful way to reveal the essence of a person, especially when they’re relaxed and not overthinking the process. One of my favourite activities in workshops is to have participants take portraits of each other using their phones. It creates a playful, intimate environment that often leads to moments of surprise and delight. Those who are usually shy in front of the camera often say, “Wow, I look great!”
I also specialise in creating portraits for leaders and teams, capturing both the individuality of each person and the essence of their collective dynamic. Whether for a personal portfolio or to reflect your team’s spirit and values, let’s collaborate to create impactful, natural light photography that tell your story.
Music has been a constant thread in my creative life for over thirty years. As a songwriter, I’ve performed solo as a singer-songwriter and fronted several bands, bringing original music to audiences across the UK. Along the way, I’ve recorded several albums, including one with my band at the legendary Rockfield Studios—where iconic tracks like Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody were brought to life.
I’ve never been much of a guitarist—just enough to support my songwriting and perform alongside musicians who elevate the music. For me, music is about storytelling, emotion, and connection rather than technical skill.
After stepping back for a few years, I’m returning to music with fresh energy—reinterpreting older material and exploring new songs. It’s a perfect fit with my philosophy of Only Create: finding joy and meaning in the act of making.
Sometimes, the powerful images emerge when we play with the natural world, pushing reality to create something a bit surreal. Whether it’s capturing the vibrant chaos of a carousel with light trails or reimagining conventional corporate imagery, experimenting with movement and perspective can breathe new life into an image. The result? Photography that can be fresh, dynamic, and engaging, whether for art or business.
Just like the delicate unfurling of a fern or the steady growth of a plant, personal growth is a gradual process, unfolding in its own time. It’s about embracing change, nurturing your potential, and allowing yourself to grow in unexpected ways. In my talks and workshops I encourage individuals and teams to explore their personal growth with patience and curiosity—much like nature, growth happens when we allow space for it to happen.
Sometimes, focusing intently on one subject for a period of time can unlock hidden beauty or new perspectives, even in the most ordinary of places. During a recent cold snap, I became fascinated by ice formations in puddles, discovering intricate patterns and textures in the most unlikely locations—like car parks and pothole-ridden streets.
In my workshops, I challenge teams to do the same: to take something seemingly mundane—whether it’s a leaf, a discarded object, or an everyday street corner—and truly obsess over it. This exercise helps participants see the world differently and sparks creativity by encouraging fresh perspectives on the familiar.
Street photography has always been about capturing raw, unfiltered moments—the way people move through spaces, interact with their surroundings, and express themselves naturally. It’s this unposed, candid approach that I bring to corporate photography.
Whether it’s capturing authentic moments at work, showcasing your team in action, or bringing a fresh perspective to your brand, my photography focuses on the real, the human, and the unpolished. It’s a refreshing way to tell your story—one that feels both genuine and dynamic.
If you’re looking for a more engaging and natural approach to corporate photography, let’s create something memorable together.
My weaving work is a tactile exploration of yarn quality, and colour, where the journey is as important as the end result. I don’t follow formal patterns, but instead allow the textures, tones, and yarns to guide me as I go, creating unique pieces every time. From heavy throws and scarves to blankets, shawls, and rugs, each creation is a one-off, shaped by the materials and the moment.
I also spin my own yarn, bringing a contemplative, hands-on approach to each project. Large-scale wall hangings can be commissioned for corporate environments, adding a personal, creative touch to any space. My work has found a place in independent specialist shops and have been popular at craft fairs, bringing a sense of warmth and individuality wherever it’s displayed.
If you’re looking for a truly unique piece, whether for your home or workplace, or simply want to explore the beauty of tactile, hand-made art, I invite you to discover more about my textile creations.
When it comes to writing, my approach depends on the genre. For my business books, like Build a Brand in 30 Days, I’m what’s known as an architect—meticulously planning every chapter, building a clear structure, and ensuring each piece fits perfectly.
Fiction, though (which I write under a pen name, S. R. Redfern} is a different world. Here, I’m more of a gardener, planting a few seeds of ideas and nurturing them to see where they grow. It’s a journey I’m still learning. I’ve had short stories published in literary magazines and self-published two novels before deciding they weren’t quite where I wanted them to be. Writing fiction is about discovery, and I’m embracing the process.
