When it comes to writing, my approach depends on the genre. For my business books, like Build a Brand in 30 Days, I’m what’s known as an architect—meticulously planning every chapter, building a clear structure, and ensuring each piece fits perfectly.
Fiction, though (which I write under a pen name, S. R. Redfern} is a different world. Here, I’m more of a gardener, planting a few seeds of ideas and nurturing them to see where they grow. It’s a journey I’m still learning. I’ve had short stories published in literary magazines and self-published two novels before deciding they weren’t quite where I wanted them to be. Writing fiction is about discovery, and I’m embracing the process.
